Is overnight parking allowed in residential areas?
As per local ordinances:
410.04(d)(i) From November 16 through the following April 14, vehicles found parked on any street or alley between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. may be towed away at the owner’s expense.
410.04(d)(ii) From April 15 through November 15, overnight parking between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. is allowed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings only on any street where parking is otherwise allowed, but excluding Bay Street during the National Cherry Festival, and the central business district …
Where can I park with a handicap placard?
There are plenty of handicap spaces throughout Downtown, Munson Medical and NMC.
Disabled American Veterans plates or stickers must be accompanied by a valid MI handicap placard.
Do you have motorized scooters or wheelchairs?
The sign says Permit Parking Only Monday-Friday 7 AM-4 PM. It is after 4 PM, am I allowed to park here?
Yes. Permit Only lots are available to the public free of charge after posted times. Anyone may park in these lots after 4 PM Monday-Friday as well as all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Where can I park overnight downtown?
Overnight parking (3am – 6am) is not allowed on any street in the downtown area. We do offer overnight parking in both of our garages at the current rates. Additionally, overnight parking is allowed in downtown parking lots P, T & V. These lots are permit lots and are enforced Monday through Friday 7am – 4pm. Anyone parked in these lots after 7am without a permit would be subject to a citation.
If you park in a surface lot during the winter, you may be towed to allow the contractor to properly remove the snow.
410.04(d)(ii)…and the central business district which, for purposes of this section, is described as follows: Bounded by Grandview Parkway on the North; Union Street south to the River; Boardman River west, south and east back to Union Street; Union Street north to the alley south of State Street; alley east to Cass; Cass south to Washington, Washington east to Boardman; Boardman north to Front Street; Front Street east to Wellington; Wellington north to Grandview Parkway.
I have a Seasonal Boat Slip at Clinch Marina, and I was provided two parking passes. Where are my parking passes valid?
Your permit must be displayed and visible. Your permit is valid at any of the metered spaces throughout the Marina area north of Grandview Parkway and the Seasonal permit lot south of the boathouse. If you park at a meter, you do not need to activate the meter as long as your permit is properly displayed and visible.
I have a Transient parking pass for Clinch Marina. Where is my parking pass valid?
Your permit must be displayed and visible. Your permit is valid at any of the metered spaces throughout the Marina area north of Grandview Parkway. When you park at a meter on Marina Drive, in front of the Boathouse or in Lot M (Marina Metered Lot) you do not need to activate the meter as long as your permit is properly displayed and visible.
